De Europese toegankelijkheidswet (Barrierefreiheitsgesetz of BaFG) betekent een belangrijke stap voorwaarts in het toegankelijk maken van digitale diensten voor iedereen. We hebben deze ontwikkelingen nauwlettend gevolgd, omdat ze perfect aansluiten bij onze jarenlange inzet om toegankelijke beveiligingsoplossingen te bieden voor Europese bedrijven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-critical-timeline-for-implementation\">Kritische tijdlijn voor implementatie<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">De Europese Toegankelijkheidswet wordt op 28 juni 2025 van kracht, wat bedrijven de tijd geeft om hun digitale diensten en producten aan te passen. De wet bevat specifieke overgangsperiodes, waaronder bepalingen voor bestaande servicecontracten die tot 2030 mogen doorlopen en zelfbedieningsterminals die tot 2040 mogen functioneren.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-scope-of-application\">Toepassingsgebied<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">De wet is van toepassing op de meeste bedrijven die actief zijn op de Europese markt, met een gerichte vrijstelling voor micro-ondernemingen (minder dan 10 werknemers en een jaarlijkse omzet of balanstotaal van niet meer dan \u20ac2 miljoen) die diensten verlenen. Maar ook micro-ondernemingen die producten produceren, importeren of verhandelen moeten voldoen aan de toegankelijkheidsvereisten, zij het met enige administratieve verlichting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-essential-digital-service-requirements\">Essenti\u00eble vereisten voor digitale services<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Digitale dienstverleners moeten ervoor zorgen dat hun aanbod waarneembaar en werkbaar is voor gebruikers met verschillende capaciteiten, begrijpelijk en robuust ge\u00efmplementeerd is, toegankelijk is via meerdere zintuiglijke kanalen, compatibel is met ondersteunende technologie\u00ebn en duidelijk gedocumenteerd is met betrekking tot toegankelijkheidsfuncties. Niet-naleving kan leiden tot boetes tot \u20ac80.000, hoewel de autoriteiten voorrang zullen geven aan begeleiding boven boetes voor eerste of kleine overtredingen. Voor kleinere bedrijven kunnen de maximumboetes lager uitvallen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-future-of-digital-inclusion\">De toekomst van digitale inclusie<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">De Europese toegankelijkheidswet is meer dan alleen naleving van de regelgeving - het gaat om het cre\u00ebren van een meer inclusieve digitale omgeving waarin iedereen volledig kan deelnemen aan de moderne economie.
